This is how to change the password of your Microsoft company account. It then applies to Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and all other Microsoft 365 services.
Important: companies with their own server
In many companies, the password is managed on the company's own server and only synchronized to Microsoft 365. In that case, changing it via the Microsoft website does not work; it only works on a company Windows PC (see below). If in doubt, use this method or ask support.
On a company PC (Windows)
Be connected to the company network: in the office or via VPN.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and choose Change a password.
Enter the old password and the new password twice, then press Enter.
After a few minutes, the new password also applies to Microsoft 365. Outlook, Teams and your smartphone may then ask for the new password.
Via the Microsoft website (only without a company server)
Open myaccount.microsoft.com and sign in with your company account.
Under Password, click Change password.
Enter the old password and the new password twice, then click Submit.
Note: Support resets forgotten passwords. Without a Windows PC (e.g. Mac only), please contact support as well.
