Never send passwords in plain text by email, chat or text message. Instead, Password Pusher creates a secret link that is deleted automatically after a set time or number of views. The password is stored encrypted and can only be retrieved via this link.
Share a password
Open pw.it-tects.at. No sign-in is needed.
Enter only the password in the large field. Don't add user name, address or service; share those separately. Alternatively, use Generate password to create a secure password.
Under The secret link will be deleted after, set the validity, e.g. 1 day and 1 view. The link is deleted as soon as the first of these occurs.
Optionally, under Additional options › Show, turn on Use a 1-click retrieval step. Recommended when sending the link by email or Teams, as automatic link scanners could otherwise use up a view.
Optionally, set a passphrase. The recipient needs it in addition to the link. Share the passphrase another way, e.g. by phone.
Click Push It!, copy the link shown and send it to the recipient.
Receive and document a password
Open the link you received. If a retrieval step is active, first click the button to reveal it. If a passphrase was agreed, enter it.
Copy the password.
Store the password securely right away, e.g. as a new record in Keeper with user name, address and password. Don't save it in notes, Excel lists or emails.
If Delete now is offered, delete the link afterwards. Otherwise it expires automatically.
Important: If the link has already expired or been viewed although you haven't retrieved the password yet, someone else may have opened it. Inform the sender so the password can be changed.
