A good password is long, unique and secret. Together with multi-factor authentication, it protects accounts best.
What a good password looks like
Long rather than complicated: at least 12 characters. A sentence of several words is easy to remember, e.g. “Coffee!Rain7Bicycle-Monday”.
Unique: a separate password for every service. If one service is hacked, the others stay safe.
Not guessable: no names, birthdays, company names or simple patterns like “Summer2026!”.
Password manager: Keeper
A password manager stores all passwords encrypted and fills them in automatically when you sign in. You only need to remember one master password. it-tects uses Keeper itself and recommends it for businesses too. it-tects sets up the company account.
On your computer: Keeper as a browser extension or desktop app. it-tects installs it or explains it during setup.
On your smartphone: App Store, Google Play
Never write down or share your master password. For Keeper, also use confirmation by smartphone or fingerprint / Face ID.
Never do this
