Microsoft automatically holds suspicious emails in quarantine. You then receive a notification “You have messages in quarantine”. This is how to check whether the email is genuine and release it if needed.
Steps
In the notification, click Review or Review message next to the email. Alternatively, open the quarantine portal and sign in with your company account.
Check sender, subject and preview: Are you expecting this email? Does the sender address match?
If the email is fine: click Release. It then arrives in your inbox.
If only Request release is offered: click it. it-tects checks the email and releases it if it is safe.
If the email is unwanted: do nothing. It is deleted automatically after some time.
When it-tects has to release
Emails with malware or high-confidence phishing cannot be released by users. If you urgently need such an email, ask the sender to send the content another way, or contact support.
Important
If in doubt, don't release. Releasing removes the protection for that email.
If an expected email regularly ends up in quarantine (e.g. from a customer or supplier), contact support. it-tects will then review the settings.
