Block website notifications – Edge, Chrome, Firefox

Some websites keep showing pop-up messages after you allow them, often ads or fake virus warnings. This is how to turn them off.

Microsoft Edge

  2. Choose Cookies and site permissions › Notifications.

  3. Under Allow, click … next to the website › Block or Remove.

Google Chrome

  1. In the top right, open ⋮ › Settings.

  2. Choose Privacy and security › Site settings › Notifications.

  3. Click ⋮ next to the website › Block or Remove.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. In the top right, open ≡ › Settings.

  2. Choose Privacy & Security and scroll to Permissions.

  3. Next to Notifications, click Settings ….

  4. Set the website's status to Block or click Remove Website, then Save Changes.

Important: Browser messages like “Virus found” are almost always fake. Don't click them and don't install any software. If in doubt, contact support.
